Working Hard but Never Getting Ahead

Thinking on how hard it is on some folks to just make it in today's world brought to mind this song from my childhood.



One of the comments on You Tube said this about him:
Tennessee Ernie Ford may have had a persona of a well to do haberdasher...but in fact he came from a very poor background. He worked his way up from poverty to being one of the most influential country stars of all time...his TV shows and albums set the stage for all that came behind him....A one of a kind performer !!!
