Do You Not Remember?

Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf. And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.

And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.

And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened? Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember? When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up?

They say unto him, Twelve.

And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up?

And they said, Seven.

And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?

Mark 8:15-21

God has answered hundreds of prayers for us. This scripture is a good admonition to us.

When the spirit of unbelief comes knocking, saying, God isn't going to change this situation, heal this disease, or take care of my need, then is when I need to TAKE TIME TO REMEMBER.

Look what God has done for you.
See what He has brought you through.
He's done what no other can do.
Look what God has done for you.

When the devil tempted you
and tried to take you down
When you needed someone
and there was no one around
In your darkest hour
He was faithful and true
Look what God has done for you.

Sometimes we'll have testimony services when the Spirit of God moves on the saints to remind us of ways that He has done great things for them. It's amazing what we can cease to remember if "the memorials" are not built.

In the Old Testament, God would have His people do certain things that triggered their memories, that caused them to go back and think again on the great things that He had done for them. Remembering those things are a great encouragement to our faith for present needs and for faith that God will be there regardless of what we face in the future.

He is OUR God. We are His people.
