On Saturday

I went in for two hours in the morning and finished my set. Well, I would have, but I couldn't find all my labels. I had everything on the counter except the labels. After I clocked out, I found the labels, so I took them with me when I went to pick up my grand kids. While I waited, I put the labels on the backtags.

With grand kids in tow, I went back to work-- because I was buying flowers for my brother to put on his wife's and our mother's graves-- and took the labelled backtags back with me. It shouldn't take me very long to put them up on Monday morning.

I had grandkids in the afternoon. Tim came up too and brought Caleb, Cathleen, Felisia and Lexi. So I had a house full. Tim cleared some more of my yard and then he went on back home.

Later on I fixed hamburgers and Josh and Tesia came (Of course, she brought Cash with her since they are inseparable right now.) Jef and Jeni were there too.

I went back and got Caleb and Cathleen to spend the night so I could take them to Sunday School. (Felisia doesn't like to be away from home at night and she convinced Lexi to stay with her.)

I've never been much one to stress out over what I have to do, but I found out that when you get out of the habit of juggling things, it can be somewhat stressful.

I knew I had Ginger coming for lunch. I had a messed up house because of all the grandkids being there, plus my dirty clothes are really piling up since my washer is not functional, and my house was not cleared of clutter as it should be because I was spending more time on trying to figure out how to get that reset done.

So all in all, I was pushing it to get the kids up and ready for church, clean things up, get myself ready, and get to church on time. I just didn't have things organized for having the kids. I didn't have the things in a handy place that I usually take along to keep them entertained.

But, everything ended well.

And I had a pleasant afternoon with more company... then a nap... and it's always refreshing to be with the saints on Sundays. Being with the saints keeps me calibrated. It restores my focus to what's really important in life and reminds me to keep in mind that it is my soul that lives eternally... or as the saying goes:
"Only one life, 'twill soon be past.  Only what's done for Christ will last."

Only One Life

Two little lines I heard one day,
Traveling along life's busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart,
And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, 'twill soon be past,
Only what's done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one,
Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in 'that day' my Lord to meet,
And stand before His Judgment seat;
Only one life,' twill soon be past,
Only what's done for Christ will last.

Only one life, the still small voice,
Gently pleads for a better choice
Bidding me selfish aims to leave,
And to God's holy will to cleave;
Only one life, 'twill soon be past,
Only what's done for Christ will last.

Only one life, a few brief years,
Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;
Each with its clays I must fulfill,
living for self or in His will;
Only one life, 'twill soon be past,
Only what's done for Christ will last.

When this bright world would tempt me sore,
When Satan would a victory score;
When self would seek to have its way,
Then help me Lord with joy to say;
Only one life, 'twill soon be past,
Only what's done for Christ will last.

Give me Father, a purpose deep,
In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;
Faithful and true what e'er the strife,
Pleasing Thee in my daily life;
Only one life, 'twill soon be past,
Only what's done for Christ will last.

Oh let my love with fervor burn,
And from the world now let me turn;
Living for Thee, and Thee alone,
Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;
Only one life, “twill soon be past,
Only what's done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one,
Now let me say, “Thy will be done”;
And when at last I'll hear the call,
I know I'll say 'twas worth it all”;
Only one life,' twill soon be past,
Only what's done for Christ will last.
