In the past I've expressed myself about how disgusting it is to me that the media converge on people in stressful situations and relentlessly harass them to get some kind of sensational story out of their grief.

Tonight I was pleased to hear that the wife of the officer held captive by pirates near Samoa politely and firmly sent the media a message to be off her property by morning. I wish more people would do that. They might get the idea that there are times to let people handle their stress and grief privately.
