Fellowship Meeting 2010-11

Awesome.

When your heart is to serve God, there is no greater joy than to be taught how to maintain your life lived for Christ.

There's much controversy in the religious world over what Jesus came for. Sadly, most religious movements have been reduced down to nothing more than men meeting together in the name of God TO BETTER THEMSELVES. They have chosen either by default or purposely, to give themselves to a religious belief system that does not have the power to remove sin from their lives. With sin still there, they will not have the experience that Jesus died for. They may have great sincerity. They may have a desire to be live for God. But Jesus came to save us FROM sin. And until we go through "the process" that produces that deliverance, we will not have what He came for.

Having the heart change that comes with real repentance and then applying ourselves to learn from His word so that we can "grow in grace" produces more than an add-on religion. The religion of the gospel of Jesus Christ is a "full time job"; those who want it only part time "need not apply". It's all or nothing.

When you comprehend the truth that to live for God ACTUALLY IS to give up your life to Him and you do that BY CHOICE because that is the life you WANT TO LIVE, then you are HAPPY when you have opportunity to learn how to maintain your relationship with God.

Meeting together regular with like-minded people, with people who have a heart to serve God with their whole heart, hearing them testify of God's workings in their lives, and having the word of God taught under the guidance of God's Spirit-- all of these things are VITAL to the upkeep of this treasure we have within us.

This Fellowship Meeting so far has seemed to gravitate toward maintenance. Keeping what you have in good shape. Holding on to your FAITH in God and what He has said. Making sure that you have set the right goal for yourself so that you don't quit before you get to the end, because you have met some lesser goal. And making sure that you do the things that will cause you to "never fall".

For someone whose greatest heart desire is to do as was said of Sister Carolyn after she passed: "She spent her whole life getting ready for this day," it is very gratifying to be taught how to keep our hearts clear before God and how to "be a man" in spiritual things.

I know saints tend to say every meeting they are in is "the best," but I've never been one to say that every time. Something in the way I think puts a stopper on me. But I'll have to say, the messages we have had in this Fellowship Meeting have been "the best" in terms of teaching us what we must do to KEEP THE FAITH and win the race. They have been "awesome".
